Sox Get Kotsay for Single A Prospect

The trade that was rumored late yesterday between the Red Sox and Braves for OF Mark Kotsay has now been completed, according to multiple media reports. The Sox are giving up Lowell Spinners OF Luis Sumoza, not a minor league pitcher as had earlier been reported.

Kotsay is expected to provide depth to the Boston offense in the wake of JD Drew's back injury. Sumoza has been doing well this season in Lowell, but is still unproven at only 20 years old.
