The initial Arizona Fall League rosters have been unveiled and several Red Sox minor leaguers will be making the pilgrimage out west to try to improve their chances of making the majors.

From Portland: TJ Large (RHP), Ryan Lawson (RHP), Mark Wagner (C).

From Pawtucket: Beau Vaughan (RHP).

According to Baseball America, Wagner has had difficulty at the plate, hitting just .169 since the All Star break. He is among the league leaders for fielding percentage and percentage of runners he has thrown out trying to steal, however.

Large is a reliever who has split this season between Lancaster and Portland. He appears to struggle with runners on base, with a 9.35 ERA with men aboard compared to 1.35 when they're empty.

Lawson has made 5 starts for Portalnd (1-1, 4.15) after spending much of the season with Greenville. SoxProspects.com reports he has trouble with consistency, especially when he reaches back for extra power (when he can get up to about 94 MPH on the radar gun).

Vaughan is a 27-year old pitcher described as having good movement on his pitches and a plus fastball.
